Seasonal Living: Fall Into Fall

Hot drinks, comfort foods, chunky sweaters and boots! Welcome, fall! Today is the first official day of the new season. In Atlanta, we’ve yet to fully transition to fall weather – today’s high is 82° – but I’m going to fall into fall by making my seasonal transition with my home decor and a few activities. I will admit that I jumped the gun and ordered my first pumpkin spice latte on Sept. 2, but can you blame me for not being able to resist the deliciousness.

Seasonal Living: Fall Bucket List

In case you need a little seasonal inspiration, I’ve created a fall bucket list for you all (click to download a .pdf version).

Fall for Fall - Fall Bucket List - The Palmetto Peaches

  6. Try a new pumpkin recipe
  7. Watch Hocus Pocus
  8. Fall-inspired manicure and pedicure

  10. Visit a pumpkin patch (or go apple picking)
  11. Sip on some apple cider (add in some adult libations if you’re 21+)

  13. Get your pumpkin spice latte on
  14. Stomp on a really crunchy leaf

Seasonal Living: Decor

My fall decor has been sitting in the Michael’s bag since I bought them weeks ago and today I’m finally pulling them out. Goodbye summer candles – hello gingered apple caramel and harvest peach fall scents. My fun and bright lemons will be packed away and replaced with these decorative pinecones and acorns that I found at the craft store. Bonus: they have a faint scent of cinnamon.  I applaud all of you who decorate with fresh flowers – I am not that kind of girl. However, I do think flower arrangements are a great addition to any room and I’m replacing my bright white hydrangeas with these sunflowers. Finally, I’m super excited about these cute little sparkly pumpkins I found.

As the temperature cools, I’ll incorporate seasonal living into the meals I prepare and will come back to share some of my favorite recipes. However, that’s it for now! Enjoy fall, everyone!

P.S. I looked everywhere for a clip of the Rugrats episode where Susie or maybe it was Angelica is singing “Fall is here, fall is here, it’s a wonderful time of year!” Bonus points to anyone who can find it.

  1. I got all of my fall decor up last week! I have an urge to bake things even though I’m not good at it, so we’ll see if I can manage that this week. 🙂

  2. Updating my fall wardrobe has been at the TOP of my fall bucket list. I have already online shoppes at Asos, H&M, and Urban Outfitters.

  3. I love how Hocus Pocus is such a staple now. It’s been 100º here recently so the major pumpkin patch in the area won’t be open for another two weeks.

    1. The Palmetto Peaches says:

100º?! Oh wow, definitely not fall weather. Yes, I watch Hocus Pocus every year like I’ve never seen it before. Thanks for reading!

  4. Look at you! So on top of your game with all the fall decor. This motivates me to get all mine out and start getting in to the spirit of my favorite season 🙂

I just bought more candles! The spirit of fall has taken over. 🙂 Thanks for reading!

  5. Fall is so short and so wonderful, you really have to pack in all the Fall stuff intentionally or it’s over before you know it. I love that you added ‘stomp on a crunchy leaf’ — critically important for having a wonderful Fall! 🙂

  6. I love fall! It’s definitely the best season. I also made a fall bucket list for today’s post. I can’t wait to go apple picking and carve pumpkins and drink hot apple cider. I love it all. Except for pumpkin spiced lattes. I’m that weirdo who doesn’t like pumpkin flavor haha

    1. The Palmetto Peaches says:

You’re not weird at all. I only recently started liking pumpkin flavor. I’m not a fan of pumpkin pies though – go figure! Thanks for reading!
