Friday Faves: Holiday Edition

Fave Movie

Ace:The Polar Express has been a tradition in my life since I was 11 years old! My super sweet creative writing teacher read it to us every year before we left for winter break. It never failed for her to cry at the end. She even gave us a bell with a little note that said, “I believe in you.” (Are you crying yet? Because I am.)

I started my own tradition with my nephews a few years ago, where we read the book together on Christmas Eve. So it’s no surprise that I’ve watched The Polar Express three times this week, and probably will one more time this weekend.

Donni: I don’t think I have one favorite holiday movie, but every year I must watch Home Alone, all of the fantastic claymation classics, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. If you read my holiday movies list, you know I’ve just discovered Love Actually. This movie is definitely going on my annual to-watch list.

Fave Flavor

Ace: This week is all about the peppermint mocha and vanilla caramel creamers my big sister got for me. I used a caramel apple biscotti to stir my coffee (made using the vanilla caramel creamer) and it was ah-may-zing!

Donni: I’m in the process of slowly transitioning from my fall flavors and scents over to my winter choices. This weekend I’m on the hunt for some of these fantastic Paramount Coffee flavors. How cute is this packaging? I think it would make a great addition to holiday gift baskets.

I’m also huge on red velvet during the holidays. So if anyone has any cool recipes, please feel free to send them my way.

FAVE Beverage

Ace: Although I haven’t tried it yet, I’m drooling over Alanna & Company’s Spiked Cider, and hoping to make it on Christmas Day. Call me simple, but Bourbon and Fireball are an easy way to my heart. Here’s the link to the recipe: http://www.alannaandcompany.com/2015/12/festive-drinks-for-holidays.html?m=1

Donni: My mouth is watering over Ace’s choice. You can’t go wrong with cider. However, this time of year I’m hot chocolate everything! Spiked or non-alcoholic, I don’t care. The cocoa goodness makes me happy. If you’re looking for some more holiday beverage ideas check out here and here.

Fave Accessory

Ace: To be honest, I haven’t bought any super cute fall or winter clothes/accessories yet. I’m still rocking my University of South Carolina sweatshirts. I’m in Charleston right now where it’s 40 degrees when you wake up, and 75 at lunch. I’d love to get my hands on a new beanie and/or this bear sleeping bag.

Donni: Can sparkle be an accessory? The answer is yes. For the holidays, I love sequined anything. Check out this Pinterest board with sparkly holiday outfit inspiration.
