Father’s Day Gift Guide 2019

Father's Day Gift Guide - The Palmetto Peaches - palmsinatl.com

Father’s Day shopping is the thing of nightmares for me. While my mom is super easy to shop for, my Dad is the hardest to shop for or even guess at what he might want. So I started to ask him and it still didn’t help. Two years ago I bought my dad fishing gear – upon his request – and it’s been collecting dust ever since it arrived. Last year, I bought him a ton of restaurant gift cards and he ended up treating other people to lunch. Which is fine, but I bought them for him. If you’re a last minute shopper or just completely stuck on your hunt for a Father’s Day gift for your husband/brother/Dad/Paw Paw/ etc. I’ve pulled together some options with different price points. I hope this Father’s Day shopping guide is helpful to you!!!

Coffee/Beer/Drink Mug

At some point in all of our gift giving careers we’ve gifted a cup or mug of some sort. Personalized wine glasses were my go-to for like two Christmases in a row. I bought this Yeti coffee mug a few years ago, because my Dad is coffee junkie. My mom ended up stealing it by the way. I have a few Yeti mugs in different sizes, but sometimes that Yeti price is just not in the cards.  So this one or this one are great options too! You can also personalize the mugs with a vinyl decal. Throw their favorite sports team or name on it and boom!

Battery Charger

Never hear the excuse, my phone was dead again with this gift. I use this brand, but there are a lot of great options.

Wireless headphones

I could be projecting or perhaps seeing everyone and their mama daddy wearing AirPods has influenced me, but I feel like wireless headphones would make a dope gift. There are so many great options out there that are affordable like these or the Jabra headphones that are on sale. However, if you want to swing for the fences and get a super popular brand I would suggest: Beats, Bose, and Sony - which all have amazing quality as well.

Tis the season of the true grill masters:

Besides those sandals (where do Uncles buy those?), hook the grill master in your life with a BBQ tool set, this one comes with a case so he can stunt at every family function, or go with something a bit more lowkey. I saw a Bluetooth/Wifi meat thermometer that may impress the tech-inclined grill master.

Toiletry Bag

A friend suggested this as a gift idea. She said the hated when she and her husband would travel together and he threw everything in plastic bags. There were leaked shampoos and broken cologne to deal with when they arrived. So for the travelers or even if your bathroom needs a little organization.  You could also fill it with the essentials (deodorant, brush, shampoo, moisturizer, etc.) or some luxury items (think beard oil or a fancy shave kit.

Some other fail-safe Father's Day gift ideas:

  • Experiences - Instead of an item on Father's Day consider gifting an experience - perhaps a trip or tickets to game/concert/ museum.
  • DNA Testing Kit - I recently completed a DNA Ancestry test which was super interesting,  but testing a parent can help you deduce which of your own ethnicities and DNA matches come from which parent. Even if you haven’t been tested your father may be super interested in learning more about his ancestry.
  • Watches
  • Wallets
  • Socks
