A meme is worth 1,000 words

especially when it comes to my life. Even though a good meme isn’t hard to come by on social media these days, only the gems  earn a spot in my iPhone storage.

Have you seen “it me” as a response to a status or picture on social media? If not, let me give you a quick run down. The first time I saw it, I thought it was a typo, so I automatically changed it to “it’s me!” in my mind. Then I kept seeing it, from different people, spelt the same way.

What is “it me”?

Naturally, I had to Inspector Gadget this meme, because I laughed out loud whenever I read one. Andrea Kats, @PastaVersaucy on Twitter, created the “it me” meme after the James Franco texting scandal. While making fun of the awkward conversation, which included an even more awkward selfie, “it me” was born. (If you care, or have no idea what I’m talking about, you can read Andrea’s Paper Mag interview.) Eventually, saying “it me” became another way to say, “that’s so me” or “this is me“.

Anyway… I’m good for responding to text messages, Tweets and Facebook comments with a gif or picture, so I was floored the first time I saw this picture of Beyoncé online.

You maybe tired of me writing about Beyoncé, but I’m not and I ain’t sorry. However, this post isn’t 100% about Queen Bey–it’s about a picture of her that is basically me on a daily basis. Her face and body language are so perfect for most of the thoughts and emotions I go through on a typical day. One of those “When Bless Your Heart Isn’t Enough” faces. It may seem a little petty, but Mercury is in retrograde until May 22nd, so I got the time today.

No. Nope. Nah. It ain’t.
